The defensive wall on the north side of the site

During the day we restart the investigation in Room 1 in Area 1. In this area have been identified the earliest levels of the settlement, contemporary to the first statement from written sources (1117). A wall of large-dimensioned rough-hewn blocks, extended north and south and partially preserved, which would be attributable due to the fragments of pottery found, dating from the ninth and tenth centuries.
In the northern portion of the hill continue instead highlighted the defensive wall, stripping and in bad condition. The rock, which leans against the wall, are, as in other parts of the excavation, signs of quarry for the implementation of the structures.
