The klin in room 2

Inside room 1 we still work to remove a reddish ground layer, related to the furnace discovered in the last week. (Pic.1)In room 2 we totally enlight the  circular brick klin. This structure is very well preserved with a diameter of 1,5 meters and it is located close to the west side of the defensive wall. It's probably related to the last occupation of the site. (Pic.2-4)In room 3 we start to remove the dark layer, plenty of characols maybe pertinent to a structure precedent to the first written sources mention. (Pic.5)
Inside room 6 we digged the fill of the foundation trench of the first defensive wall and a big hole in the ground not yet understood. (Pic.6-7) Thanks to the monumentality  (Pic.8) of the site today we've got a lesson in archaeological draw part of the class of "Comunicazione, gestione e conservazione dei beni archeologici" of the Siena University (Department of Grosseto). Fifteen students spent all the day on the site with theorical lessons and practice oriented to describe in detail the theory of the archaelogical documentation.
