General view of room 6

While we finished the investigation in room 6 (pics 1-3), where we identified the remains of a probable Ellenistic Age fortification (even though highly damaged by the building of the later structures), we kept on digging in room 1 and 2. In room 1 (pics 4-6) we are highlighting a layer linked to the first phase of the building, already partially pointed out in the previous campaign.
In room 2, thank to help of the mechanical excavator, we finished to remove the collapse layers related to the XII century Sienese cassero, above whom a space division similar to the one of the rooms inside the defensive walls was installed (pics 7-8). At this moment, the investigation (suspend temporarily in sector 2) can be considered concluded inside the tower and in rooms 4 and 6.
