In the west part of area 1 we are still enlighting the defensive wall and the life ground of room 5 between the wall and the cistern. Large part of the day has been dedicated to a general cleaning of the sector and to the cut of some trees close to the slope.
Into the cistern has been opened a test of 1,5X1,5 meters to understand the widith of the deposit and to find the bottom; this operation are connected with future digging and strenghtening of the bouilding. By now, at a deep of 1,2 meteres, we are still loking for the bottom. The idraulic mortar, yet visible on the surface, seem to be well preserved in the west part. We are traing to dig in the central portion of the cistern to avoid useless exposure to the elements until the begining of the consolidation works.
Into the building we found a landfill layer probably connected with the agricoultural use of the area.
