Room 1 at the end of the day

While in the west part of Area 1 we are still finding the border of the settlement enlighting the last part of the defensive wall we completed the digging of half cistern. The structure dated to the XII century (Period V.2), lean to the defensive wall that is conteporary. Tyhe cistern, preserved for a highness of a 180 cm, covered by idraulic mortar, has, on the central part of the bottom, a deposit zone to help the cleaning of residues and impurities. The mortar cover the stone wals and the bottom is made of bricks.

Into room 1 has been removed a ground floor probably connected with a building in mixed materials. The floor was made with a clay layer. The north and est walls were made of stones while the south side seem to be in perishable materials on a stony base. The remotion of the abandon layers enlighted a yellow compact layer est-north oriented with 1 meter widith.

We are also going on with experimential use of tablet Ipad yet part of the documentaion process. The tool has sobstitute the traditional paper diary for the registration of the stratigraphic unity database and also to look trough the older datas.
