Area 1 muro US 4 - Castiglioncello del Trinoro

For the second day of the archaeological survey, we continued the excavation of earth layers of US 1 and US. 2 in the Square 1, near the wall US 4. This wall, made clear in all its breadth this morning, it seems more often than seemed at first yesterday. Indeed, its average width is 1.30 meters. For now it is visible for a length of 5 meters. Another section of wall was identified, after removal of the layer of humus US 1, north-west. This is probably the same wall. It is necessary to continue cleaning up this area to confirm this assumption. In the afternoon we continued removing remains of a small modern building in the center of Square 1 to investigate the best possible conditions, in the coming days, this area has been identified where the walls and US 3 US 4. We also began the excavation in the square 2 where it was removed by mechanical means the layer of humus US 1. The inquiry will continue tomorrow in the 1 and 2 with the removal of materials and earth coming of the small building and detection limits of the wall US 4 (Square 1).
