The bread oven found in room 2

Description and interpretation:
Inside room 2 of Area 1, close to the west escavation bound and to a bad preserved part of the defensive wall, removing a tiles collapse we enlight a bricks level interpretated as a dome oven collapse. The remotion of the layer allow us to discover the entire planimetry of the oven (1,5 meters diameter), also if bad preserved.
 
The oven, according to the building typology, can be intepreted as a bread oven, small sized structure with a dome voult. This simple oven were built the a rick dome voult and a cooking point in burned soil. Two east-west oriented small walls made in worked stones close the structure.
 
Chronology:
The oven has been discovered in room 2, bynow the later building of the site, datable to the XIV century (Period III) and built over the collapse layers of the closest structures.
